- The transfer of your loved one into our care.
- Paperwork authorization to be completed via phone, email/DocuSign.
- The creation and filing of a death certificate with the State of Virginia.
- A notification to Social Security of your loved one's passing.
- The publishing of your loved one's obituary, composed by you, with or without a photos, onto our website.
- The cremation of your loved one.
- Your loved one's cremated remains will be returned to you in a basic urn with a cremation certificate from the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son.
Not Included in the Discount Cremation Package
- An in-person arrangement with a funeral director.
- Hard Copies - You can obtain hard copies of the death certificates from any local health department in Virginia.
- Witness Cremation* - Witnessing your loved one's cremation.
- Viewing* - A private in-person viewing of your loved one.
- Dressing/Cosmetizing* - The preparation of your loved ones' body using cosmetics.
- Obituary Composition - Assistance from our staff with composing your loved one's obituary.
- Obituary Submission - Submitting your loved one's obituary to papers.
- 24-hour Assistance - All non-urgent messages will be returned the next business day.
- Print Work - Physical mementos, such as memorial folders or other printed materials, honoring your loved one's life.
