Marshall Lewis Updike, 91, of Prince George passed away Monday, January 16, 2012 in the Waverly Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. Mr. Updike was a member of the Colonial Hunt Club, Hopewell VFW, Broadway Baptist Church and a U.S. Army veteran serving in WWII. He is survived by his wife, Vivian Rae Updike, three sons, Lamont L. Edwards, Jr., Otis H. Edwards and Robert King, a daughter, Vivian Ann Stell, brother, Bobby Updike, sister, Ossie Updike, seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm Thursday, January 19, 2012 at the Memorial Funeral Home-Gould Chapel, 214 N. 6th Avenue, Hopewell, VA. A graveside service will follow 2:00 pm Thursday, January 19, 2012 in the Bermuda Memorial Park with Dr. James Maggard officiating.
