James Daughtry

James "Jimmy" Daughtry, 68, of Chester, VA, passed away on April 9, 2026. Born and raised in Petersburg, VA, to the late Archie P. and Martha M. Daughtry on August 1, 1957, he is survived by his wife, Jacqueline A. Stover-Daughtry. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his step-daughters, Christina Leach and Stephanie Morris (Jay). He is also survived by his brother, A. Powell Daughtry (Tiffney); sister, Delores D. Anderson (Curtis); granddaughter, Christy Morris; and great-grand-children, twins Ocasia and Zane Morris.

James was a graduate of the Petersburg public school system and attended Virginia Commonwealth University. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Petersburg, VA, and served as assistant treasurer of the Sunday School Department for several years. He was a long-time employee of Flowers Baking Company.

James and Jackie met working at Holiday Inn in Petersburg, VA. in 1986. They were always together, never apart and had a wonderful love story.
