Esther Verna Rihel

Esther "Billie" Rihel, 83, passed away on December 26, 2025, in Richmond, VA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vivian Miles and Adam Schaffner. Esther is survived by her daughter, Brenda L. Smith "Greaver", of Pasadena, MD; her friend, Alice Snively, of Baltimore, MD; as well as Carl and Laura Caracia, of Chesterfield, VA. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, as well as many self-adopted children, grandchildren, and close friends in Chesterfield, VA.

Esther loved animals deeply, especially West Highland Terrier dogs. Her love of gardening and baking were also passions of hers. 

A Celebration of life is to be announced at a later date.
